We all need a support system in our lives to cope with life’s challenges. I take a person-centered and empathetic approach with each client with whom I work. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and coping skill development. My work is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I like to try to build upon the strengths you already have and help you to discover those you did not realize you had.Together, we focus on strengthening coping skills, increasing emotional awareness, and creating strategies that you can use in your everyday life.
I have over 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families.I enjoy working with all ages of clients both individually and as families. I particularly enjoy helping clients with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, grief, school-related stress, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience supporting clients during periods of crisis and helping families navigate difficult or overwhelming situations.
I received my Masters of Art in Counselor Education from Wake Forest University and my Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Development from Virginia Tech. I am very down to earth, easy to get along with, and open-minded. Being out in nature renews my spirit. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, camping, being outdoors, and playing tennis. I look forward to connecting with you!
