Life is filled with stress and uncertainty. You don’t have to navigate by yourself. Let me help.
I work with clients ages 10 and older who are experiencing distressing symptoms related to obsessive-compulsive disorder and/or anxiety or mood disorders related to academic/career stress, body image, women’s health issues, and life transitions.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, warm, and grounded in evidence-based care. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and empowered- not judged or rushed. Together, we'll work to better understand what's driving your distress and develop tools to help you feel steadier, more confident, and free to live a valued life.
I value all identities, sexual orientations, cultures, abilities, and life experiences. I understand that reaching out for help can feel intimidating. My goal is to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. I look forward to supporting you as you take steps toward meaningful change.
I have been trained in ERP therapy, DBT, and the Health at Every Size Model.
A little about me…
I am a twin and a Winston-Salem native who graduated from North Carolina State University in 1993 with a BA in English education. I taught middle school language arts for twenty-nine years before retiring in 2022. Right after retirement, I followed my passion for mental health and earned my master’s in counseling at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in December 2025. I am new to counseling but have a wealth of experience with life transitions.
I love spending time with my husband and our cat Delilah. Delilah enjoys joining telehealth appointments. She adds some humor to the appointment. My husband and I have a passion for all things from the 1980s, including movies, video games, and music.
