Katie Drobney, MA, LCMHC, ATR

Starting Mid-Summer

Hi, I’m Katie. I help kids, teens, and families when life feels hard, confusing, or overwhelming.

Sometimes kids have big feelings like worry, sadness, anger, fear, or stress. Sometimes scary or difficult things happen, and it can be hard to know what to do with those feelings. You might feel nervous about change, have trouble talking about what is going on, or feel like your emotions are too big to handle on your own. That does not mean anything is wrong with you. It means you may need some extra support, and therapy can help.

I use Art Therapy to help kids express themselves in creative ways. You do not have to be “good at art” to do Art Therapy. Drawing, painting, creating, and using your imagination can help you share feelings, solve problems, and understand yourself better.

I am a trauma-informed, solution-focused therapist with over 16 years of experience helping people with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges, and big life changes. I am also certified in DBT and EMDR, which are types of therapy that can help with strong emotions, painful memories, and learning healthy coping skills.

I believe every person is the expert of their own story. That means your feelings matter, your voice matters, and you already have strengths inside you that can help you grow. My job is to help you discover those strengths and learn tools that make life feel a little easier and more balanced.

I also believe healing can include the whole person: your emotions, your body, your relationships, and your sense of purpose and meaning. I am trained in transpersonal counseling, which means that if your spiritual or religious beliefs are important to you or your family, we can include those in our work together.

Starting therapy can feel brave, and maybe even a little scary. I will do my best to make therapy feel safe, kind, and helpful. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you learn, heal, and grow.
