Justin Rountree, M.MFT, LMFT

Enacting change in our lives is never easy, especially when it pertains to our mental health and our relationships. However, it is a worthwhile process that can have a profound impact on your life and the lives of those closest to you. The healthier we are in these areas the healthier we are as individuals, family members, friends, and coworkers. My goal is to create a safe, therapeutic atmosphere for you to explore these areas and enact the change that you need to be a happier and more whole version of yourself.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I practice an evidence-based family systems approach. I believe great insight and change can occur when a family system understands how each member may be contributing to a particular issue. My therapeutic approach looks different for each client as I aim to match my interventions and technique with the strengths of my clients. I seek the feedback of my clients at the end of every session so that I can match my approach to the needs and desires of my clients. I also utilize theories such as solution focused therapy, Bowenian family systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and the common factors approach. I use these approaches to help my clients realize their strengths and attributes and utilize them in a way that contributes to healing and growth as clients reach the goals that we have collaboratively set.

In my clinical work, I've had the opportunity to work in a community outreach clinic as well as a transitional living organization for individuals recently released from incarceration. My experience has allowed me to work with diverse clientele of various races, ages, life stages, and socio-economic backgrounds. I've worked with adults, children, couples, and families.

My areas of special clinical interest include anxiety, depression, family of origin issues, marital conflict, family conflict, premarital counseling, substance abuse, and young adulthood among others.
