Jordan Roels, MA, LCMHCA, NCC

Starting Mid-February

Congratulations, you have officially taken the first step in prioritizing your mental health! Therapy can be a vulnerable place, but it is in your vulnerability that you find the biggest strengths within yourself! I aim to offer you a safe space while we work together to improve your mental well-being through processing your emotions, thoughts, and feelings. People often feel that they do not have a place to go that allows them to be completely vulnerable, so let me be that space for you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and a National Certified Counselor. I have my Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke along with a Graduate Certificate in Addictions Counseling. As a counselor, I use evidence-based practices in our sessions that research shows have been effective. I use interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness to help clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, familial discord, gender identity concerns, substance use/misuse and emotional dysregulation.

I have experience in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, LGBTQIA+ and college students. I also have training in Subtle Yoga specifically aimed at helping clients who struggle with mental health concerns. Subtle Yoga helps clients understand the importance of the body and mind together in improving mental well-being. In Subtle Yoga we will use breathing techniques and other mindful movements to decrease presenting symptoms.

With me, you will always find a genuine and authentic professional who will stand by your side in your healing journey.

“Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.”- Bessel van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
