Sometimes life's stressors can weigh us down and make going through day-to-day life feel challenging and even isolating. You don't have to go through this alone. Counseling is a process of self-discovery and understanding, as well as a way to pursue a life that is fulfilling, meaningful, and enjoyable. I am here to draw out and build on your strengths, aid you in understanding yourself, and help you make changes to improve your everyday life.

I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2022 and hold an associate's license. For 14 years I have dedicated my life to helping others with a variety of concerns. My theoretical orientation includes a basis of person-centered values such as non-judgement, unconditional positive regard, and a belief in everyone's ability to evolve and grow. I lean into an Existential and Psychodynamic perspective while utilizing evidence-based, scientifically backed techniques. I believe it is beneficial to understand how our past experiences and relationships have shaped us as well as how to find meaning in life.

I enjoy working with many different kinds of concerns such as life transitions, grief and bereavement, sexuality and gender identity, eating disorders, relationship struggles, and stress. I also work with depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, anxiety, personality disorders, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, and behavioral disorders.

Although I practice mostly talk-therapy, I am trained in expressive arts and somatic exercises which can help us to access deeper parts of ourselves that sometimes cannot be put into words. I also utilize and teach nonviolent communication strategies which improve ways of communicating to build healthier relationships.

You've already taken a big step in your journey by looking at this page and I would be honored to walk it with you.
