Starting late September
Individual Adolescents, Young Adults, Adults Therapist
Hello and welcome! Therapy is a place for us to dismantle everything we know - good and bad, while we face the worst parts of life and ourselves. That’s really scary! The good part is, this means it
can get better
Here’s what you need to know about me: I received a Master of Arts from Appalachian State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, concentrating in Addictions Counseling. I am a Licensed
Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and am working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate. What does all of that mean? I have the formal training to provide
counseling. I also hold marginal identities that have led to my own lived
experiences with counseling; I know how hard this work can be.
So far in my professional experience, I have really enjoyed working with folks that have experienced medical trauma and other sudden major life changes, chronic pain and illness, and substance use issues. I wholeheartedly believe in the mind-body connection and that to address trauma, we must include the body. I also enjoy working with folks that respond well to humor, sarcasm, and are willing to put in their part of the work. My job is to provide you a safe space to do so; please come as you are.
My approach to counseling is person-centered, meaning that I believe you are the expert of your life and your needs. Together, we will use a combination of techniques from motivational interviewing, harm reduction, gestalt therapy, and expressive arts to guide you toward your goals.
I am here to be with you as we navigate your journey of healing together. If you read this far and this still sounds like something you want to do, let’s do it!
