My goal in the therapeutic venture is to partner with you to improve the relationship you have with yourself and with others to create a more fulfilling life. I strive to create an environment of supportand compassionin which you are empowered to actwith courage and vulnerability in a safeand judgment-free place. My philosophical orientation is strongly influenced by Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I draw upon other modalities as each therapeutic approach has useful aspects. My counseling is based on evidence-based treatments (meaning, they’ve been studied and are shown to be effective) while focusing on your individual needs.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Counseling at East Carolina University. Prior to pursuing this degree, I completed my Master of Arts in College Student Developmentin 2017 and a Bachelorof Science in Psychology in 2014 both at Appalachian State University. I have worked in an outpatient behavioral health clinicfocusing onyoung adults and have 5 years of experience in corporate business settings.
In my free time, you will find me spending time with my wife & our dog Olaf, exercising, enjoying friends & family, geeking out on anything psychology and behavioral economics related, or exploring the great outdoors.
