Everyone has the ability to flourish and heal given the right emotional support. Counseling is a powerful tool that can help us to grow in spite of the difficulties that we face. I strive to create a warm and non-judgemental environment where my clients feel safe to explore themselves. I strongly believe in a client-centered approach to therapy meaning the techniques that I utilize will be tailored to best fit your unique circumstances. I will allow you to guide me as we build a therapeutic relationship and work together to achieve your goals.
I am currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Counselor Education at East Carolina University. Prior to going back to school, I received my bachelors degree in History/Social Studies Secondary Education from Appalachian State University. I have worked as a high school teacher for four years. I witnessed the pressures my students faced both academically and socially. It is through my teaching experience that I gained valuable insight into the importance of mental health and a strong support system.
In my free time, you can find me reading, working out, spending time with friends, or playing with my cat Salem!
