Masters of Social Work at University of Kentucky
Children, Adolescents, Adults, Couples, and Family
Thank you for taking this important step and reaching out for help. I am a clinical intern who is currently working towards my Masters of Social Work with the University of Kentucky. I was previously a teacher and decided to switch paths and pursue a career in the important field of mental health. I have interest in working with individuals of all ages that are experiencing the psychological and physiological impacts of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and/or going through life transitions. In my sessions, I promote the transformation of unwanted or difficult thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I pay close attention to each client's unique life story, as well as their current and future goals. I strive to provide a safe space where clients are able to grow and heal.
I feel it’s important to use different theories and interventions tailored to meet each individual's needs. I utilize concepts from CBT, DBT, Person Centered Therapy, Attachment theory, and Somatic Therapy. I also believe in and strongly encourage the development of mindfulness coping skills to help get through life’s challenging moments. With the integrated use of these modalities, I am able to meet individuals where they are and support them along their journey of growth and self discovery. I look forward to connecting and beginning the empowering therapeutic process with you!
